Long Jumps in Surface Diffusion Investigated by Stochastic Equations
Abstract The jump diffusion at crystal surfaces is studied by means of three stochastic equations, the Fokker-Planck, the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook and the Fokker-Planck equation with memory. The equations are solved calculating the jump rate and the jump-length probability distribution. The results are then discussed and compared to each other.
