Spectrum-Efficient Backscatter for Smart Homes
This chapter discusses how smart home applications benefit from backscatter communication, and designs a corresponding backscatter scheme called ZScatter to turn such applications into reality. In particular, Sect. 3.1 presents a smart home vision assisted by backscatter communication and illustrates ZScatter’s motivation. The related work is given in Sect. 3.2. The background associated with ZScatter is presented in Sect. 3.3. The design details of ZScatter and the experimental results are given in Sects. 3.4 and 3.5, respectively. Finally, Sect. 3.6 summarizes this chapter.
