SOC Advanced Architectures
Systems on Chips (SOCs) of these days have become very complex. To achieve the targeted performance of such designs, it is necessary to have robust architecture. The architectures defined using conventional methods will no be suitable. This require special considerations and advanced techniques to define the architecture. This chapter deals with some of these considerations and advanced techniques for defining complex SOC architectures. Chapter details techniques like SOC accelerators, platform architectures, multiple clock and multiple voltage architectures, near memory processing architectures. This chapter aims to empower the architects to consider these techniques depending on the complexity and design requirements of the SOCs. This chapter also provides some guidelines for defining good SOC architectures.
