Abstract In this chapter we extend the viscoelastic constitutive relations to a three-dimensional setting. This is a direct task using the appropriate measures for stress and (small) strain. Of particular importance in the “correspondence method” introduced in Section 2, that may be used to solve many important problems, as shown by examples in this and chapters to follow.
