A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
This book focuses on various unsteady gravity flows with a free surface in nature and engineering, i.e., water waves, and introduces the theories, methodologies, and case studies on numerical simulation. The mathematical model describing various water wave phenomena can be based on general equations of fluid mechanics and can be also based on the water wave theories in specific conditions. This chapter gives an introduction to water wave theories.
