Calculation of pipelines with permeable walls
Conclusions 1. The article presents an analytical solution for a system of equations of flow of a fluid with a variable discharge in a long pipe with a lengthwise constant wall permeability, collecting fluid from a region under a constant pressure. 2. In long perforated collecting pipes there is an initial section in which the main mass of the fluid is added and an intense change in the average velocity occurs. The length L of this section does not depend on the external pressure and is determined only by the pipe characteristics. 3. An increase in the permeability of the walls φ so much that L becomes less than the pipe lengthl is not advisable and leads to the formation of a stagnant zone in section L × <l which must be taken into account in the design and calculations of collecting pipes operating under pressure conditions. 4. The calculation relationships obtained were confirmed by special experiments and are recommended for use in engineering calculations. These relationships can also be used for determining the effective values of the coefficient of hydraulic friction and discharge coefficient of holes during pressure flow in pipes with permeable walls.
