Operation of the Cascade of Pumping Stations of the Karshi Main Canal
The article discusses some methods for calculating the unsteady flow of canals. It has been established that for calculating the hydraulic parameters of canal flows in the design of “canal-pumping station” systems with transient processes, it is possible to use the continuity equations and determine the average flow rate for the required time interval through the section under consideration. The recommended method for controlling the operating modes of pumping stations involves the use of solutions to the equations of unsteady motion for a certain selected point in time \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$ \tau = const $$\end{document}. Full-scale tests of the head and modernized samples of axial pumps at the Karshi main canal showed the dependence of the unsteady flow movement on the starting angle and water levels of the lower pool of the PS-1 on the flow rates in the supply canal, options for the geometry of the canal. The curves of the dependence of the dynamics of the levels in the downstream of the PS-1 on the flow rates in the supply canal and the water horizon in the Amudarya, based on the results of the authors’ calculation, and the dynamics of changes in the canal diameters in some fixed sections in different periods of the year were constructed. The authors gave recommendations on the use of mathematical models of unsteady water movement in the “canal-pumping station” system and obtained the main characteristics of the flow in the section under consideration, taking into account the hydrometric characteristics.
