Placing the enclosing dikes for the foundation of the Lower-Kama hydroelectric station
Conclusions 1. The utilization of coarse-material suction dredges for the construction of foundation pits from a supply of developed materials in the underwater portions for use in dikes, not only speeds up the placement operation, but has a significant economic effect as well. 2. During construction of the foundation pits, based on the hydromechanics of soils with a gravel content up to 30%, it was found necessary to design the pit with underwater side slopes not steeper than 1 ∶ 3.
