Oil Well Cement Modified with Bacterial Nanocellulose
Abstract During oil well completion, cement slurries are pumped into the annular area between the casing and the borehole. These are used to contain and prevent corrosion and erosion of the casing and to hydraulically isolate the various formations through the borehole, avoiding the filtration of pollutants in aquifers, loss of productivity, etc. Oil well cementing is a complex task. Incorrect isolation or loss of circulation causes damages, both economically and environmentally.
