Comparative study on mechanical performance of asphalt–cement mortar and emulsified asphalt–cement mortar
The composite materials of asphalt–cement (AC) mortar were designed and produced by using different asphalt addition techniques. The objective of this research is to analyse comparatively the mechanical performance of AC mortar and emulsified asphalt–cement (EAC) mortar. Based on different asphalt contents found on the test data, this study has discussed the mechanical performance of compressive strength, tensile strength and elastic modulus of AC mortar and EAC mortar influenced, and the differences in mechanical performance of AC mortar and EAC mortar have been analysed. The three macro-structure states of AC mortar have been put forward, and this study has also analysed the micro-structure states of AC mortar by using the scanning electron microscope technology. On the basis of the above, the four flexibility stages of AC mortar have been presented, and the optimum flexibility state of AC mortar in the asphalt content 20% has also been determined.
