Techniques of slip-forming concrete with moving shuttering have nowhere received more attention than in the German Democratic Republic. The solutions evolved in the construction of many notable buildings are here discussed by the President of the Academy of Building of the GDR who is also a member of the Board of CIB. He has acted as the consultant in the design and construction of a number of slip-formed buildings which distinguish the urban scene in that country.
