The mechanical-reliability combination represents a link between finite element and reliability procedures, in such a way to obtain the safety evaluation by the most efficient method. In this combination scheme, the reliability analysis is very sensitive to the mechanical modeling accuracy: the mechanical error may be reduced, or, mostly, amplified during the reliability analysis. In practical engineering, the desired mechanical accuracy should not be limited to deterministic requirements but should take account for the filtration effect in the mechanical-reliability combination. In this paper, we develop, for linear elasto-static behavior, the filtration factors, illustrated by numerical example of thick sphere under pressure.
