A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
MIKTI: bridges and footbridges for tomorrow, is a national research project that started in early 2001. The project adresses both technical and economical progress of composite bridges, in order to enlarge or facilitate the use of this kind of bridge. After describing the emergence of the project, the five technical packages forming the project are presented (small span bridges, concrete slab, improvements for two-girders bridges, use of tubular sections, inspection & maintenance. At last, the ways provided for dissemination of results are described.
