Refratarios de Al2O3-Cr2O3 de ligante fosforico mecanismo de ataque por escoria de aciaria
The slag attack on phosphoric bonded Al2O3-Cr2O3 mortar test pieces of commercial procedence was studied, introducing a 50 mm diameter by 50 mm height test piece in a 1600C BOF steel basic slag from 1 hour up to 5 hours. By means of X-ray diffraction analysis, in the Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid so solution, anorthite and cristobalite presences were detected and quantified. The electron microprobe analysis of the slagged zone made possible to stablish that the solid solution is essentially the slag resistance responsible phase. In addition it was verified the free alumina, and phosphate matrix dissolution. This fact was suggestive to use a greater particle size distribution, which affect negatively the solid solution formation. These results allow to derive the suitable particle size for this kind or special refractories.
