Foss reservoir desalination plant brine recovery
A desalination plant at Foss Reservoir produces potable water and a waste stream containing the salts concentrated from the natural lake water. This usage will depend upon community growth and alternate sources of water. Water will always be the prime product of interest from the desalination plant. The area near Foss Reservoir has abundant gypsum, dolomite, limestone and salt. These mineral resources coupled with Oklahoma's excellent energy position could make this area attractive to the chemical and building products industries. A list of companies utilizing the type of resources located in Southwestern Oklahoma is included with this report for the area's industrial developers. (Kursetz)
