Development of Sumitom type non end tab wleding process for the steel sructural bueldings
For the purpose to save time for finishing work and make sound welds in the column to beam joint of the steel structural building. Sumitomo type non end tab welding process using ST-1, solid flux tab, has been newly developed. This report explains the welding performance and the mechanical properties of welds using ST-1 compared with those using ordinary steel tab. Test results show that no difference can be seen between these two methods. Furthermore, stress distributions on beam flange near weld, have been examined by means of structural test. It was revealed that no differences also can be recognized between above to procedures. (Wassmann)
