In order to know the characteristic of heat of hydration on high strength concrete and to prepare for temperature control on structures with the same material, this paper combines field measurement method with theoretical analysis method, contrasts high strength concrete with common concrete on adiabatic temperature rise and on field measurement temperature, elucidates the disadvantage of temperature rise on strength development of high strength concrete and the advantage of temperature rise on winter construction of high strength concrete, discusses the temperature control criterion of high strength concrete. At last, the paper points out that for high strength concrete components more than 1 meter wide, it is needed to control the maximum temperature below 70 deg C and the maximum thermal differential below 30 deg C.
