Photovoltaic module with coloured diffuse reflectors
Coloured static concentrator modules integrated in facade or rooftop are an approach of reducing the cost of grid-connected PV-systems and, at the same time, to enhance their acceptance by architects and users. The goal of this paper is to analyse experimentally a flat static concentrator module (MEC-P), with different coloured diffuse reflectors. A prototype was constructed and the irradiance incident on both sides of bifacial cells were measured in order to evaluate the optical concentration ratio. Comparing this ratio for modules with different coloured diffuse reflectors, the authors concluded that yellow and orange devices lead to only a slight reduction in the performance when they are compared to module with white reflectors. This kind of static concentrator can produce remarkable cost reduction compared to a standard module, in spite of an increasing of total area.
