Collaborative engineering processes modelling between ceramic tile supply chain organisations
The main contribution of this research work lies in the definition of the Enterprise Model for the Implementation of Collaborative Systems (MEISC) through descriptive models following a topdown approach and guided by the Zachman framework. These models determine the needs and requirements that must be demanded for the implementation of PLMs with the aim of favouring the management of the collaboration. The development of these descriptive models and the categorization of modelling techniques is important to researchers because, on the one hand, the literature on this subject is scarce and, on the other, they provide a deeper understanding of the activities associated to product development by defining the collaboration processes that take place, above all, when the organization is undergoing a process of delocalisation and distribution of production. It has been found that the Zachman framework is a good guide for the development of Enterprise Models and for the classification and organization of descriptive representations that are significant for management itself, as well as for the development of its different systems. Furthermore, the Zachman framework enables to identify the shortcomings of other frameworks in case they do not cover all the cells, by filling all of them.
