The production and marketing of fly ash for concrete in compliance with DIN EN 450 makes an appreciable contribution to the cost-effective operation of a power plant. Thus, when generating electricity STEAG aims at producing high quality fly ash as well. In terms of building laws the respective power plant operation company is the producer of fly ash. In his role as management representative according to DIN 18990 the power plant manager is responsible for the fly ash production. STEAG administrates an extensive quality management of the fly ash production to meet the legal and technical demands on the fly ash. The related tasks regarding organization and administration are performed by a special power plant operation division in capacity as central coordinator unit for the STEAG operated power plants in the Rhine-Ruhr region. For an efficient design of the operational procedures and documentation STEAG makes use of different electronically controlled operation management systems.
