The use of raw, unfinished textiles as reinforcement for concrete elements requests a certain cautiousness during the manufacturing of the concrete specimens. The coating of textiles is primarily used to improve the mechanical performance of the reinforcing textile. But coatings also improve the handling of the textiles. Coatings give the textile structure a high stability and can also apply means to keep a defined separation of textile and formwork. The textile can be fully enclosed by the concrete matrix so it is later not visible on the surface of the concrete elements. The use of spacer structures and the preforming of textile reinforcement cages has also side effects on the concreting method. Booth, textile structure and concreting method must therefore be thoroughly aligned. Investigations in this matter are actually performed in the AiF research program "Serial single-part production of building members made of textile reinforced concrete", AiF-Nr. 14441.
