State-of-the-art gunning methods for refractory mixes
For many years the gunning procedure is used for the repair of refractory linings. Depending on the case of application and the gunning capacity, different kinds and sizes of gunning machines are utilized. In combination with a gunning manipulator, furnaces, tundishes or ladles can be repaired in hot condition. By means of the new VELCO development, the GUNMIX-system, the moistening of the gunning material is improved considerably, what results in less dust and less rebound. New fields of application can be applied in a dry gunning procedure. GUNMIX is a cost saving alternative to costly procedures such as shotcreating.
