A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The project aims to produce 50 high quality brochures describing recent, monitored buildings which incorporate passive solar features. The brochures are posted in batches of 7, free of charge, to more than 3000 architects and similar professional throughout Europe. Since work started on April 1st 1986, 28 brochures have been published and distributed. The next seven projects are currently in preparation, as part of the remaining 21 brochures intended for publication by the end of March 1989. A range of building types have already been included - new and refurbished housing, schools, a factory, an office and a sports centre. The modum operandi, with sub contractors in participating countries providing the information for the brochures for editing and compilation by ECD, continues to work well. The mailing list for the brochures is now over 3000 and a study of the response shows a very high level of satisfaction.
