Propiedades dielectricas de pastas de cemento con bajo contenido en agua libre
Concrete is a material that behaves as an insulator (dielectric) or conductor depending on its water content. Moist concrete has a resistivity of about 50 Ohmm (at 1 kHz) which is in the range associated with semiconductors. When oven-dried, however, it increases its resistivity to around 109 Ohmm (at 1 kHz) which corresponds to that of an insulator. The dielectric properties of the concrete also change. This paper is an attempt of relating the dielectric constants of cement paste with its water content, starting from oven-dried samples. Specimens of cement paste with water/cement ratio of 0,5 and with a 2 % of Cl(-) and without chlorides were made. The dependence of dielectric constant on several parameters (frequency, moisture content, chloride content) is presented. The results show that the epsilon values increase with water content. At high frequency, values of 10 to 20 are measured whereas they increase to exceptionally high values at low frequencies.
