AbstractDas vom Frankfurter Büro Philipp Mainzer geplante Wohn‐ und Geschäftshaus Futura One befindet sich in zentraler Lage von Taiwans Hauptstadt Taipeh. Der besondere Stil des ikonischen Bauwerks resultiert aus dem Kontrast zwischen der rigiden, erdbebensicheren Struktur und der feingliedrigen Struktur der polygonalen Glasfassade: Glas, Stahl und Beton spielen wohlproportioniert zusammen. Bautechnisch liegt die Besonderheit in dem Semi‐Structural‐Glazing‐Ansatz, den die Planer im Interesse maximaler Transparenz verfolgten. Die Realisation mit dem Stahlsystem VISS Semi SG der Schweizer Jansen AG erwies sich als anspruchsvoll. Um die Vorstellungen des Architekten zu verwirklichen, entwickelte Jansen in enger Kooperation mit dem Metallbauer objektspezifische Glashalter, die in Kombination mit einem Stufenglas die gewünschte Aufstellung mit positivem und negativem Winkel ermöglichten. Dass die VISS Semi SG Fassade die von der taiwanesischen Baubehörde geforderten Parameter für hohe Windlasten (Taifune) und seismische Ausschläge (Erdbeben) erfüllt, bestätigen die Prüfungen nach dem international anerkannten Standard ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), die unter der Leitung von Jansen China im Vorfeld durchgeführt wurden.

Translation abstractFutura One, Taipei: identity‐creating residential constructionThe Futura One residential and commercial building, designed by Frankfurt‐based architects Philipp Mainzer, is centrally located in Taiwan's capital Taipei. The special style of the iconic building results from the contrast between the rigid, earthquake‐proof structure and the delicate structure of the polygonal glass façade: glass, steel and concrete interact in a well‐proportioned way. In terms of construction, the special feature is the semi‐structural glazing approach, which the planners pursued in the interest of maximum transparency. The realization with the VISS Semi SG steel system from the Swiss company Jansen AG proved to be challenging. In order to realize the architect‘s ideas, Jansen worked closely with the metalworker to develop project‐specific glass holders which, in combination with a stepped glass, enabled the desired installation with positive and negative angles. The fact that the VISS Semi SG façade meets the parameters required by the Taiwanese building authorities for high wind loads (typhoons) and seismic deflections (earthquakes) is confirmed by the tests in accordance with the internationally recognized ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standard, which were carried out in advance under the direction of Jansen China.
