Corrosive Effects of Deicing Salts
The rapid increase in recent years in the use of chloride salts for snow and ice control causes concern about the effects of these salts on other materials. This article reports the findings of Milwaukee's Water Engineering Division in its study of the corrosive effects of deicing salts. A review of published information, a report on its own studies, and an analysis of the problem are presented.
