Passive earth pressure under plane strain conditions
Chapter 6 contains the procedures for the determination of plane passive earth pressure with plane and curved slip surfaces. Apart from Coulomb, Pregl/Sokolowski's formulas are further elaborated on the basis of the characteristic method due to soil self‐weight, infinite uniformly distributed surcharges and cohesion. Furthermore, the procedure for a rotation of the wall about the top or toe and the distribution of the passive earth pressure are explained.
