In his column, AWWA Executive Director Jack Hoffbuhr describes the historical background of the AWWA Standards and their development from 1881 to the present. He also announces the adoption on January 18, 2004 by the AWWA Board of Directors of the new Distribution Systems Operation and Management Standard, ANSI/AWWA G200‐04. He states that the draft source water protection standard is currently on the AWWA website, along with ANSI/AWWA G200‐04, for review and comment.
