Removal of Poliovirus 1 From Secondary Effluents by Lime Flocculation and Rapid Sand Filtration
Flocculation with lime followed by settling and sand filtration effectively removes suspended matter and phosphates from secondary effluents. Preliminary studies to determine the degree to which flocculation with lime, settling, and rapid sand filtration remove viruses from such effluents have been completed. The results of this work are reported in this article.
