In this chapter, the author shares the discussion he had in an interview with Wendy Rogers. In 1987, Wendy Rogers joined LPA as a young intern. Thirty years later, she stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Bob Kupper as the second CEO in the firm's history. LPA's design culture also emphasizes diversity, education, and talent development. In her interview, Wendy describes why she likes to sit in the “melee” of an open office; the differences in leadership style between her and her predecessor; the opportunities and challenges of leading a multi‐discipline firm; and the importance of inclusivity as a prerequisite of true integration.
