Research Needs, Priorities, and Information Services
This article analyzes the broad interests of AWWA to determine which areas are in need of more research. Areas discussed in the article include: source of supply; treatment methods; transmission and distribution; and, management. The article urges more support for research done at the university level. The article goes on to present a discussion of three categories of research information that were considered by the AWWA Committee on Research, and include: research in progress; unpublished research results; and, published research reports. Also considered by the committee was the intermediate step between the discovery and the development of results, and the ultimate application of these results.
