Disinfection, water quality control, and safety practices of the water utility industry in 1978 in the United States
More than 300 utilities answered questions about their disinfection, water quality control, and safety practices. The purpose of the questionnaire was to document the prevailing water treatment practices, especially those for disinfection, before many treatment modifications had been made to control trihalomethane levels in drinking water. An analysis of the answers is provided in this report.
