Work Area Protection on Highways
This article discusses the provision by water utilities of adequate protection of work areas, particularly when construction operations are conducted on the public highways. Five phases of work area protection are discussed that include: setting up a protected area; protecting employees at work; protecting pedestrians and vehicles during work; providing nighttime protection; and, removing protective devices upon completion of the job.
