INDUSTRIAL WATER FORECASTS
It is important for long‐term water‐resource planning to project many years into the future sometimes by as much as 50 years. Past predictions of industrial water demands have been disparate because all factors were not considered. The authors of the main article contend that there are four important factors to consider and that these factors are sufficient.
A critique article by a panel of three experts appends the feature article. The panel concurs with the approach adopted in the feature article and explains that any discrepancies between results by the panel and ones by Stewart and Metzger are related only to the precision of the starting data.
