Water Investing: Come on in—The Water's Fine
This article discusses broader investor recognition and awareness of water investment opportunities, particularly the roll‐up and sale of USFilter in the mid‐1990s (and the accompanying publicity). It was probably the single watershed event that helped most with raising the visibility of water investing, the event that broke the ice for many investors. The article also looks at the down side of investing in the water industry, such as early attempts to build public companies on the idea of speculating in water rights. However, the article ends on an optimistic note about future opportunities in water industry investment.
