Seven road test sections each 100 ft long and 12 ft wide were selected for study; gradation of crushed aggregate complied with specifications for 3/4 in. maximum Medium Type "B" mix as specified by California Div of Highways; asphalt content of 6.2% was selected; to evaluate degree of compaction obtained by various rolling techniques and effects of temperatures, air permeability tests were conducted; 4 in. diam cores were taken at same locations where permeability tests were conducted, and in-place density of each core was determined by procedures of L.E.Santucci and R.J. Schmidt.
