Experiment on quality control on clay building bricks
Clay building bricks made in Northern Ireland are made from Triassic clay having gypsum distributed in way that makes sorting difficult; some of bricks contained too much sulphate and caused serious defects in. brickwork; to improve quality of bricks, analyses for total soluble salts were made on samples taken from 10 works; compressive strength tests on samples from seven works; analyses presented in charts.
