Effect of tar, ammonium fluosilicate, and sodium hydroxide on alkali resistance of concrete
Investigations made by Division of Tests, Public Roads Administration, on concrete specimens having water cement ratios of 0.7 and 0.8 by volume; aggregates were Potomac River sand having fineness modulus of about 2.65 and gravel containing 50% of 3/4 to 1/2-in. size and 50% of 1/2-in. to No 4 size; two brands of cement passing all standard specification requirements were used in preparing specimens; results of physical and chemical tests on cements.
