Chemical resistance of high-alloy steels in ammonium fluosilicate solutions
Study was made with steels containing 17 to 23% Cr, 9 to 28% Ni, less than 1% Ti, 0 to 3% Mo, and 0 to 3% Cu at pH 3 to 7 in range 100 to 300 C; all four steels tested were resistant up to 100 C only, except one typical steel alloy which was found most resistant at 200 and 300 C with respective corrosion rates of 1.0 and 1.3 mm/yr. (see also English translation in J Applied Chem of USSR v 40 n 8 Aug 1967 p 1680-5)
