Rammed earth forming apparatus Abstract This invention relates to forming apparatuses for constructing rammed earth walls. The forming apparatuses are able to climb the wall being formed until the desired height is reached. The climbing is through integrated movable surfaces or in a further embodiment aided by a crane. The forming apparatuses can compact loose layers of earth into rammed earth lifts with a compactor that translates along horizontal rails and a vertical motion linkage. In one embodiment the vertical motion linkage is through expandable supports and in another embodiment by a rail connecting the mainframe and formwork surfaces. The forming apparatuses described have the mechanical elements required for an electronic control system to operate the entire production cycles.
