A construction machine controller is provided with a main board 10 which is operated by a construction machine embedded OS 12 and a PC board 20 which is connected to the main board 10 through USB interface connectors C12 and C21 and operated by a general purpose PC-OS 22. The main board includes a monitoring unit 13 which monitors an operating state of the PC board. When the monitoring unit 13 determines that the operating state of the PC board 20 is abnormal, the main board 10 reactivates or stops the PC board 20. Accordingly, the controller 1 using the construction machine embedded OS 12 and the general purpose PC-OS 22 can cope with abnormal processing that occurs in the general purpose PC-OS 22.
