The invention provides a ZrO2 metering nozzle and a preparation method thereof. The ZrO2 metering nozzle is prepared from components A and a binder, wherein the mass of the binder is 4% of that the components A, and the components A comprise 51-58.2% by mass of ZrO2 with the particle size of 180-200 meshes, 34-38.8% by mass of ZrO2 with the particle size of 800-1,000 meshes, 0.9-1.4% by mass of Ho2O3 and 1.6-14.1% by mass of CaO, wherein ZrO2 with different particle sizes serves as raw materials, and Ho2O3 and CaO serve as additives. The stabilizing effect of the additives and the optimum matching ratio of the additives and ZrO2 are guaranteed so that the comprehensive performance of the ZrO2 metering nozzle can be improved and the long service life can be prolonged to 40-50 hours. By adopting the ZrO2 metering nozzle provided by the invention, the requirement of a continuous steel casting technology for a metering nozzle with a long service life can be met, the requirement for improvement in the continuous steel casting technology can be also met, and the steel making technology can be improved further.
