The invention discloses a connection joint for a box girder and a box column. The connection joint comprises two inner clapboards which are fixedly connected in the box column, wherein the outer side of a column flange close to the box girder is fixedly connected with two connection plates; two girder webs and the two connection plates correspond one by one; the girder webs are connected with the connection plates through bolts; a girder flange is cut off close to the column flange, thereby forming an installation auxiliary gap which is convenient for connecting the girder webs and the connection plates through bolts; a girder flange complement steel plate is arranged on the installation auxiliary gap. By adopting the connection joint, connection of the box girder and the box column can be realized effectively. The invention further discloses a connection method for the box girder and the box column. The connection method comprises the following steps: installing the inner clapboards; reserving the installation auxiliary gap; installing the connecting plates; connecting the girder webs and the connection plates; enclosing the installation auxiliary gap. By adopting the connection method, feasible operation steps are provided for effective connection of the box girder and the box column, and operation is easy.
