The invention relates to a preparation method for a bismuth titanate ceramic material. Bismuth titanate in the bismuth titanate ceramic material exists in the form of lamellar bismuth titanate crystal grains. The preparation method comprises the following steps: 1) conducting pre-synthesis on bismuth titanate ceramic powder, grinding, adding ablative fibers into the ground bismuth titanate ceramic powder for wet ball-milling, and carrying out drying and briquetting to obtain a ceramic biscuit; 2) conducting sintering on the ceramic biscuit at 1000-1100 DEG C to remove cotton fibers, thereby obtaining the bismuth titanate ceramic material which exists in the form of the lamellar bismuth titanate crystal grains.
