The invention discloses a hydraulic system of a hydraulic tamping machine. The novel technical scheme is that inlets of a first overflow valve, a gear pump and a first oil returning and filtering device are connected with pressure oil; an outlet of the first overflow valve is sequentially connected with a manual reversing valve, a rotary valve and one end of a three-position and four-way reversing valve; one oil outlet of the gear pump is connected with a first oil sucking and filtering device; the other oil outlet of the gear pump is connected with a P opening of the three-position and four-way reversing valve; an A opening of the three-position and four-way reversing valve is connected with a lower cavity of a lifting oil cylinder; a B oil returning opening of the three-position and four-way reversing valve is connected into an oil tank; a T opening of the three-position and four-way reversing valve is divided into two branches; one branch is connected with an oil discharging pipeline at the A opening; the other branch is divided into two branches again, one branch is connected to an oil-inlet pipeline at the P opening, and the other branch is connected into an oil returning tank. The three-position and four-way reversing valve is connected into an oil pump to be connected with a pipeline of the lifting oil cylinder, so that an overflow phenomenon is avoided, the oil path of the whole hydraulic system is smooth, well-regulated and good in heat dissipation performance.
