The invention discloses a low-cost sintered permanent magnetic ferrite material and a preparation method thereof. The material is characterized by including the raw materials including, by weight: 100 to 140 parts of fine iron concentrates, 3 to 5 parts of strontium carbonate, 2 to 3 parts of precipitated calcium carbonate, 0.3 to 0.6 part of cobalt oxide, 0.2 to 0.5 part of boron oxide, 0.5 to 0.8 part of calcium gluconate, 0.7 to 1.4 part of polyvinyl alcohol and right amount of water. The added boron oxide is used for blank fluxing, the material sintering temperature is reduced, and resource waste is reduced; by means of the added cobalt oxide, the magnetostriction coefficient of the material is decreased, and the power consumption is reduced in the certain temperature range; the preparation method is simple and low in cost, the high residual magnetic induction intensity and intrinsic coercivity can be acquired, and the application prospect is promised.
