The invention discloses a high strength carbon fiber reinforced yttrium aluminum garnet ceramic matrix composite material and a preparation method thereof. The composite material is characterized by being prepared from the following raw materials by weight part: 30-50 of yttrium aluminum garnet, 6-8 of scandium oxide, 10-13 of modified high elastic carbon fiber, 5-8 of methyl crotonate, 0.03-0.06 of ammonium persulfate, 0.2-0.4 of a crosslinking agent TAC, 10-15 of kaolin, 1-3 of tetrameric meta acid potassium, 20-30 of magnesium oxide, 2-3 of guar gum, 20-30 of ethanol, and 40-60 of deionized water. The composite material provided by the invention adopts modified high strength carbon fiber as the reinforcement phase, has the advantages of excellent oxidation resistance, enhanced ceramic toughness, strength, high and low temperature resistance, good thermal conductivity and small expansion coefficient, and the making process is simple, the sintering temperature is lowered, the sintering properties are improved, also the construction period is short, and the yield is high.
