The invention discloses a calcium-aluminate-cement-bound aluminum magnesium castable and a preparation method thereof. The high-strength calcium-aluminate-cement-bound aluminum magnesium castable is prepared by using calcium-aluminate cement as a binder, slaty corundum, magnesite and activated alumina as main components, and titanium dioxide/calcium carbonate/magnesium oxide micropowder as a composite additive. By combining the characteristics that the titanium dioxide can accelerate sintering and the magnesium oxide and corundum react to form spinel and calcium carbonate which can be converted into high-activity calcium oxide at high temperature, the strength of the aluminum magnesium castable is greatly enhanced. The high-strength calcium-aluminate-cement-bound aluminum magnesium castable has excellent slag permeation resistance and thermal shock resistance, and can be widely used in ladle liners and RH refining furnaces.
