A steel column is an H-shaped or box-shaped steel column, the column foot is embedded into a reinforced concrete foundation and comprises a bottom plate arranged at the end face of the bottom of the steel column, the area of the bottom plate is larger than the cross sectional area of the steel column, vertical stiffening ribs are arranged between two side flanges of the steel column and parallel to a web plate of a steel column body, multiple studs are evenly distributed at the bottom of the outer wall faces of the two flanges of the steel column body, and anchor bolts are arranged at the two ends of the bottom plate respectively. As a horizontal stiffening rib and the vertical stiffening ribs are arranged, the effective pressure bearing width of the embedded part of the steel column is increased, which is beneficial for transferring bending moment and shearing force borne by joints of the embedded type column foot, the steel column embedment depth can be greatly reduced, the embedment depth of the foundation or a bearing platform is further reduced, and the column foot has good economic benefits in engineering practice.
