The invention discloses a means for adjusting inlet valve height and a method for adjusting inlet valve height. The means herein includes an upper sleeve, a lower sleeve, a rotating disk and a locking means, wherein the upper sleeve sleeves outside the lower sleeve, and the lower sleeve is provided with external thread on the external wall thereof, and the rotating disk is provided with internal thread on the internal wall thereof and sleeving outside the lower sleeve, and the internal thread of the rotating disk is in threaded connection with the external thread of the lower sleeve, and the rotating disk is also rotatably connected to the upper sleeve which drives the helical cooperation between the rotating disk and the lower sleeve through an upward or downward linear movement and forming a locking secured connection with the rotating disk via the locking means when the upper sleeve moves to a defined position. The method for adjusting inlet valve height comprises: providing the rotating disk, enabling the rotating disk and the lower sleeve of the inlet valve to be in threaded connection, enabling the rotating disk and the upper sleeve of the inlet valve to form a rotatable connection, moving the upper sleeve in an upward or downward linear movement with respect to the lower sleeve, and securing the rotating disk and the upper sleeve when the upper sleeve moves to the defined position. The means and the method of the present invention have the advantages of easy handling, reliability, and are free from the size limitation of a water tank.
